We believe that people and planet should not pay the high price of traditional, commercial development. Over 20 years ago, we embraced circular principles and we’ve been creating beautiful, functional, sustainable logistics, office and residential space ever since.
For us, a successful building is one that functions exceptionally well, makes little environmental impact, leaves a positive legacy and pleases people. We design for all the senses, because good buildings make people happy, productive, inspired and connected to their surroundings. That’s the future we all want to live, so that’s what we build.
Delta began developing in 1988, and in 2000 we discovered the Cradle to Cradle philosophy: everything is a resource for something else, everything can be designed to be disassembled and safely returned to the soil, or to make new materials or objects.
Today we work in the Netherlands and Germany to create modular, dismountable buildings, and innovative leasehold models that cut waste. We work in creative partnership with clients, architects, investors, municipalities and collaborators to embed positive principles in the world we’re all building, together.
Our world needs bold change and people and industries willing to drive it. 20 years after committing to only using circular design principles, we’re making an ambitious promise that recognises our responsibility to future generations and embeds it into everything we do. This is our promise to the world.
One of the first practices to adopt C2C, we continue to work to William McDonaugh’s pioneering circular design principles. In 2000, the idea that ‘everything is a resource for something else’, was exciting and inspired the mindset that still defines our work – what we are building today are the ‘materials banks’ of the future.
In September 2015, all 193 Member States of the United Nations adopted a plan for achieving a better future for all — laying out a path over the next 15 years to end extreme poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and protect our planet. At the heart of “Agenda 2030” are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which clearly define the world we want — applying to all nations and leaving no one behind.
